As the son and brother of public school teachers and and a community college adjunct myself, I know the impact education can have on our most at risk populations. I want to ensure all Missouri children have equal access to quality, public education and that we allow our elected school boards do their job.
I’m pro-union and pro-Raise Up Missouri. I believe that we can increase the minimum wage to the benefit of our employers and employees so no one who works full time should have to live in poverty.
Equity in All, for All
I believe in equity in all things and it’s my mission to fight inequality on every front be it gender, race, religion or sexual identity. And I firmly believe that government has a responsibility to protect everyone’s right to practice their own faith but has no right to dictate morality. We need the government to watch over all our welfare, but we don’t need government in our doctor’s offices any more than we need them in our bedrooms.
Gun Violence Prevention and Reform
We are in a crisis as a society have a responsibility to our children and ourselves to curb the public safety threat that relaxing gun laws have created. This is not a culture issue, this is a public health issue. Law-abiding hunters, sport shooters and those wanting to defend their homes should be the most fervent supporters of the type of sensible firearm safety legislation I want to create.
Our Lives are Dependent on Our Environment
I vow to tackle climate change by bringing together scientists and business leaders to protect Missouri’s air, water and soil. I’ll question our current approach to confront climate change and ensure we are utilizing best practices from around the globe, spending taxpayer money efficiently, and leveraging resources at the state level to protect the natural resources for Missouri and the our planet.
